"The Coffin" terinspirasi dari sebuah upacara yang benar-benar terjadi di sebuah propinsi di Thailand. Upacara ini disebut "Lhong Tor Tai" atau "Tidur di dalam peti-mati". Mengapa mereka ingin tidur di dalam peti mati dan apa yang dilakukan di dalam peti mati tersebut? Pada dasarnya mereka percaya bahwa upacara ini bisa membantu menghilangkan nasib buruk mereka. Mereka akan berbaring di peti mati dengan membawa sebuah harapan, kemudian para pendeta akan memanjatkan doa untuk mereka. Setelah upacara tersebut, semua nasib buruk mereka akan tertinggal di dalam peti mati itu, dan mereka terasa lahir kembali.

Upacara itu tidak hanya diyakini oleh orang Thailand, bahkan orang asing pun mengetahuinya dan tertarik. Menariknya lagi, upacara ini berhasil masuk dalam "Guiness Book Of Records" sebagai upacara pemakaman terbesar di seluruh dunia.
